Rhyl Silver Band is a fourth section brass band from Rhyl, North Wales. We are a social band and always welcome new players of any standard. Our Senior Band reherses on Mondays and Thursdays 7:30pm - 9:30pm and our Training band rehearses on a Sunday 2:30pm-4pm.

Rhyl Silver Band has been in existence for over 130 years and serves the community not only by providing free musical instruction for all ages but also by offering it’s services to the locality and therefore being part of that communal bond.
The Band is in the main self-financing with some well received and regular help from the Rhyl Town Council.
We are fortunate to own our own Band Room outright and in the early nineties we benefited from Lottery Funding which allowed us to completely refurbish both floors; practise room and storage on the first floor and a create new Band Club function room on the second floor. There was also enough money to acquire a complete set of new instruments which had the additional benefit of allowing the old instruments to be passed on to beginner classes.
It’s great to have enjoyed what is effectively a brand new building, but organisations such as ours depend on countless hours of continuing voluntary time to support the band and its activities. Many are involved in the committee work (some of whom come from the playing membership) whilst others provide their time free to the Band Room upkeep and last but not least to run our Band Club.
The Band Club has become the ‘heart’ of the organisation both to enhance the social side of Brass Banding and also provide that all important resource - money.
The Band is in a typical Brass Band “rebuilding” period and are currently at the lower end of the league tables (a bit like football really!). However we have worked hard to achieve a good deal of support which will ensure that we will climb that mountain and move back into the higher league and once again enjoy quality performance at the highest level.
